As many families take to the road for holiday travel this Independence Day weekend those traveling with young children should be aware of a new state law on child safety seats.

New child restraint law now in effect (Laurel Leader-Call)
A change in Mississippi’s child restraint law went into effect Tuesday. According to the law, any child under the age of four in a motor vehicle must be restrained in a car seat. Children between ages 4-7 must ride in a booster seat which meets proper safety standards.
